Fitst day of Preschool

Well today I sent the last of my kids off to school.  Andrew gets to go two days this week before starting four days a week after Labor Day. He class is two and a half hours. Here he is ready to go out the door to school.
He had so much fun today.  He tells me his favorite part of the day was when he got to paint.  He talked all the way home from school.  It was great to hear all the fun he had being at school.

Giant Marshmallows

I talked about making s'mores with giant marshmallows.  Well I got this picture from my mom today.
The small one is a regular sized marshmallow.  The bigger one is these huge marshmallows they found and have enjoyed roasting.  I had never seen marshmallows so big before.

Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's House

I took the kids to visit my parents in Walcott to finish off their summer.  We spent a week visiting.  While we were there the kids enjoyed eating s'mores made out of these huge marshmallows.
I had never seem marshmallows so big before.  Madison took one bite and most of hers landed on the table.  Also while we were there we visited Niabi Zoo.  It is in Coal Valley Illinois and I hadn't been there since I was a kid.  The kids were hot and tired by the time we were done but it only took us about an hour to see everything.
Madison and Jonathan just "hanging" around

Can't visit the zoo without a ride on the train
They really enjoyed the giraffes
After the zoo we went to a park along the Mississippi River and they wanted to feed the ducks.  Only problem was there wasn't any ducks to feed so they feed sea gulls instead.

First day of school

Wednesday was the first day of school for Madison and Jonathan.  Madison started 4th grade and so far is enjoying it.  Jonathan started 1st grade and hasn't really had much to say about it.  Andrew doesn't start until the 30th since he is attending a different district.  He has been enjoying staying home with me.  He is so happy to have me all to himself since I just ended a semester and won't start another until after Labor Day.

Here are some pictures as they got ready to go out the door.
